Photographing you safely in the time of COVID-19
UPDATED July, 2021: In accordance with provincial recommendations, both Laura and the hair/makeup artist will continue to wear masks for all indoor photo shoots.
Hello everyone!
IT IS SO GOOD to be able to say after several months of shutdown that I’m back in business and accepting bookings for headshots and other types of portraits for the summer.
However, there’s no pretending that we’re going to return to normality until this damn pandemic is firmly in the rear view mirror.
So, after careful research to make sure all procedures and protocols are in line with both the BC Provincial Governement and WorkSafe BC, I have instituted the following policies when photographing clients:
COVID-19 SAFETY PLAN
All complimentary consultations will be conducted over the phone, Zoom or Facetime and all wardrobe styling sessions will be conducted over Zoom or Facetime. Photo viewing sessions 7-10 days following your photo shoot will remain in-person.
For indoor family portrait sessions, all members of the family being photographed must reside within the same household (in accordance with provincial regulations). Any kind of group photo shoot involving more than 1 household will be photographed outdoors (this family/generations photography sessions, corporate group headshots, etc.). These sessions are contingent on weather conditions, and as such, may be subject to rescheduling.
Personal branding headshot sessions, boudoir and glamour photo shoots, pet photo sessions, and any other type of individual photo sessions, will continue to be photographed indoors (unless a client specifically requests an outdoor session).
Both my hair and makeup artist and I have taken and passed the BARBICIDE® COVID-19 Certification Course and the Worksite Safety Compliance Centre’s Pandemic Awareness Course to stay up to date on the latest safe practices for beauty professionals during this time.
All high traffic areas (door knobs, light switches, and faucets) will be disinfected with bleach before each photo shoot.
The hair and makeup artist will sterilize all equipment prior to arrival on the day of the shoot.
Please wear a clean or new mask on arrival as per the requirements of the building the studio is in.
The hair and makeup artist will wear a cloth/non-medical mask, in accordance with the guidelines outlined by Worksafe BC.
I will also wear a cloth/non-medical mask for the duration of our time in the studio.
If any adjustments to your hair are required during the shoot (e.g., zhuzhing of hair), I will direct you on how to make your own adjustments.
Sealed snacks (organic protein bars) and bottled sparkling/still water will be on hand if anyone gets hungry or thirsty.
Things to remember:
If at any point prior to the photo shoot anyone has flu-like symptoms (even if it’s on the morning of the shoot), please notify me immediately and we will reschedule for a later date. I will follow the same protocol.
No cash will be accepted at this time. Accepted forms of payment are online credit or debit payment through PayPal.
